How to apply

We offer rent-free furnished accommodation to writers who wish to come to Dunedin (usually for periods of four weeks to six months) to undertake writing projects.

Applications are open from 1 December 2025 to 31 January 2026 for writers interested in residencies for periods from September 2026 to early 2027 (length of stay can vary). 

We ask writers to include the following information in their applications:

• your writing curriculum vitae 
• an outline of the writing projects you plan to work on
• your reasons for wanting to take up a residency in Dunedin
• your preferred dates for a residency and whether you have flexibility.
